We are

Plateau. Our unique geographic location welcomes you to
our spectacular facility for first class assisted breeding and
foaling services. We also offer some Mobile Semen Freezing
Services, we

Breeding
Collection
At Equine
Reproduction Centers
we offer a full range of breeding services including Stallion
Semen Collection using a phantom mare, we also offer
phantom training for your stallion if he has not been
collected using a phantom before, stallions not collected
at one of our facilities before will need to complete a
Breeding Soundness Examination to evaluate semen and test
extenders for shipping. We recommend clean out and test evaluation collections at the beginning
and sometimes during the season,
we can then coordinate the shipping of semen from your
chosen stallion.
We operate an on site
lab for semen evaluation using computer assisted sperm
analysis (CASA) and live microscope images to ensure optimum breeding
results before we inseminate or ship. For the semen we
ship out we include a complete report of your Stallions
Motility at the time of collection for the receiving
Breeding Manager or Veterinarian, this information can
also be charted onto a spreadsheet where the reproductive
performance history of a stallion can be kept, this is a
great marketing tool for any stallion owner.
Artificial
Insemination
Artificial
Insemination
is available for your mare using
fresh, cooled or frozen shipped in or store at our
facility semen. Our Mare
Services include a mare breeding soundness exam, teasing and
ultrasounds.
Over the years we credit our high success rate with
insemination down
to our knowledge of charting a mares progress through the
breeding cycle and the use of ultra sound to find the
optimum time period to inseminate.
In a process
where timing is everything, we are available to breed anytime, 7 days a week,
we operate on the horses schedule whether it's weekday or
weekend, day or night and our first time success rate is
second to none. We can also
provide in house horse transport services or airport pick
up of shipped semen if needed, we are conveniently located
close to Ontario, CA (ONT) and San Diego (SAN)
international airports.
Embryo
Transfer
We offer
Embryo Transfer (ET) an established reproductive
technology that involves the collection of an
embryo (or embryos) from a donor mare. The embryo (or
embryos) are
transferred into a recipient or surrogate mare where a
pregnancy can be established and maintained resulting in
the birth of live offspring.
We can help in the location of surrogate mares if
needed and our program offers complete coordination of the
donor and recipient mares.
we operate an on site
lab utilizing new technologies to ensure optimum breeding
results. Our experienced staff and attention to detail are
key to our great success rates with ET and with our advance cryopreservation techniques, we are able to freeze an
embryo for later use or shipment.
Frozen
Semen and Embryo Storage (Cryopreservation)
State
of the art cryopreservation offers a more
convenient way for stallion owners to offer breading by
having the semen frozen and stored. The process includes semen
being placed in straws and frozen with Liquid Nitrogen (LN2)
in a controlled process. The semen straws are then stored
in specially designed Liquid Nitrogen tanks (dewars). The semen is then ready to
use or ship the exact moment a mare is ready to breed
without the rush of last minute collections, a
real benefit to horses during show season. In the event of
a Stallion's death or injury, frozen semen would then be
available to carry on bloodlines.
Some of our basic services
include, Freeze evaluations, Semen
and Embryo Freezing and Storage. In addition to just
storing frozen semen we offer Frozen
Semen Processing and Shipping. The owner of frozen semen
stored with us would simply notify us that a request has
been made, we can then take care of processing the frozen
semen for shipping in a Dry Vapor Shipper and sending it
to the mare owner. We also offer
storage for frozen semen transferred from or collected at other locations and facilities,
and provide Liquid
Nitrogen tank management. Stallion owners able to collect
their own stallions maybe able to bring cooled semen to us
for freezing, conditions apply so please check with us for
details.
Our
Frozen semen and embryo storage tanks are closely monitored to
maintain Liquid Nitrogen levels, tanks are charted and
maintained by our own staff, extra tanks and a supply of
Liquid Nitrogen is kept on site in case a tank transfer is
needed.

Foaling
Our barn
includes a larger foaling stalls with 32' x 32' x 16 wide L
shaped outside corrals.
Our stalls provide a
safe & comfortable environment for your mare during
foaling, our skilled foaling attendants also monitor our
camera system providing 24 hour a day security &
care for your horse to ensure the safest foaling possible.
Safe pastures
or stalls are provided for mares
until they are ready to foal, then the
mare is moved to a large foaling stall with cameras, this
way we can monitor the foaling process without having
to disturb the mare during this vital time. The
mares halter is equipped with a foal alert system
that also sends out a page if she lies
down to give birth, be assured that we are watching your
Mare 24/7 and together with the cameras system we are able to
watch her every move in case any assistance is needed
and provide whatever care is necessary.
We can give care during
and once the foal is born, including proper positioning
of the foal, monitoring the birth, we also disinfect the umbilical cord,
monitor the placenta and give support to the foal
including enema's as needed, the foal is monitored for its ability to stand, suckle,
urinate, and defecate. All foals born our facility receive
a Vet Check by a Licensed Veterinarian and each
foal is given the appropriate vaccines as
required.
Foaling Process
Each
stall has interior access and an exterior door leading
to individual turnout.
With owner’s consent, each mare is offered daily
turnout until they are ready to foal. We feel exercise
for the expectant mare is very important to help prevent
edema (swelling in the limbs) and prepare for proper
positioning of the foal, as well as a healthy state of
mind.
We
offer individual attention regarding feeding and special
needs for your mare, whether it be feed supplements,
medications or an injury or lameness that needs tending
to.
Mares are observed closely for body & attitude
changes, and we keep detailed notes on her progress
& habits, so you may use this information for
foaling in the future.
24 hour discreet video monitoring is provided, so we are
able to monitor your mare without disturbing her.
Attended
delivery by experienced professionals.
Umbilical cord care (navel dip immediately after birth).
On-call veterinary assistance is available if required.
After each foaling, all of the following must have taken
place before we consider it a successful foaling: The
foal must be able to stand, nurse on it’s own and have
passed it’s meconium. The mare must have successfully
passed the placenta and be up on her feet &
comfortable with all contractions ceased.
After Foaling Follow-Up
Mare
only or Mare and foal veterinary exam.
Umbilical cord care (repeated dips over the next several
days).
Daily handling & imprinting of the foal.
Individual turnout if your mare & foal stay with us
for an extended period of time.
Rebreeding Options
Should
you choose to rebreed you mare via shipped semen, you
are welcome to leave her at our facility until she is
rebred.
Stringent communication is maintained between our
facility, the stallion owner and mare owner to allow for
a successful rebreeding at a reasonable cost to the mare
owner.
Mare Requirements
Current
year, or recent (within the last 6 months) negative
Coggins test.
Vaccination record.
Deworming record.
When
to Bring Your Mare
Ideally,
it is recommended mares arrive about 30 days prior to
foaling. This allows your mare to get acclimated to her
new surroundings and to produce antibodies against the
microorganisms from the new environment, and
subsequently, to pass these to the foal in the colostrum.
Upon a successful delivery, your mare & foal should
be able to travel home within a few days of birth.
We
offer foal imprinting & daily foal handling in a
low stress environment where mare & foal are turned
out in pasture, and we also have a pasture for the weanlings
where the young horses can play together.
Please email or give
us a call for more information on how our we can take the
stress out of breeding for you and your horse.
