Frozen Semen and Storage

A more convenient way for Stallion owners to offer breading is to have semen frozen and stored. Semen straws are frozen and stored in Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) tanks. The semen is then ready to use or ship the exact moment a mare is ready to breed without the rush of last minute collections, a real benefit to horses during show season. In the event of a Stallion's death or injury, frozen semen would then be available to carry on bloodlines. 

Services at our facility include, Freeze Evaluations, Semen Freezing and Storage and Mare insemination with frozen semen. In addition to just storing frozen semen we offer Frozen Semen Processing and Shipping. The owner of frozen semen stored with us would simply notify us that a request has been made, we can then take care of processing the frozen semen for shipping in a Dry Vapor Shipper and sending it to the Mare owner. We also offer storage for frozen semen transferred from or collected at other locations and facilities, and provide Liquid Nitrogen tank management. Stallion owners able to collect their own stallions maybe able to bring cooled semen to us for freezing, conditions apply so please check with us for details.

Our Frozen semen storage tanks are closely monitored to maintain Liquid Nitrogen levels, tanks are charted and maintained by our own staff, extra tanks and a supply of Liquid Nitrogen is kept on site in case a tank transfer is needed.

Our Freezing / Processing Center is able to offer short and long term Storage of Frozen semen and Embryos. When properly stored, frozen semen will remain viable for almost an indefinite period of time.
